XR - XT Information

XR FORD FALCON

 

The XR series was introduced in September 1966

Several improvements were made over the previous XP model. The 144ci was dropped and the 170ci and 200ci  were the only sixes available. 

The XR was the first Australian Falcon to be offered with a V8 289 Windsor engine.

The XT Falcon range was introduced in March 1968 and although much like the XR falcon before it featured a revised grille and taillights that set the two models apart.

The 170ci was dropped and the 188ci and 221ci  were the only sixes available.

The 289 Windsor V8 engine was replaced by the larger 302 Windsor
